Project 2: Redesign the health survey at a functional health tech start-up
In my recent role with a functional health tech start-up, I was tasked with redesigning a health survey to enhance both the qualitative and quantitative data collected for practitioners. My goal was to make the questions more relevant and actionable for our customers, ultimately improving the insights we could provide to health professionals.
I began by conducting a thorough analysis of the existing survey, identifying areas where questions were either too vague or didn’t align well with the needs of both practitioners and customers. I gathered feedback from stakeholders, including healthcare practitioners and customers, to understand their pain points and information needs.
Based on this input, I redesigned the survey to include more targeted questions that better captured the nuances of each customer’s health status and lifestyle. I restructured the questions to be more specific and relevant, ensuring they were aligned with key health metrics and outcomes that practitioners use in their assessments. This included adding more detailed sections on symptoms, daily habits, and treatment responses, and incorporating rating scales that provided clearer quantitative data.
To improve the qualitative aspect, I included open-ended questions that allowed customers to provide context and elaborate on their health experiences, giving practitioners richer insights into individual cases. I also ensured that the survey was user-friendly and accessible, with a streamlined design that made it easier for customers to complete.
The revised survey not only provided more precise and actionable data but also enhanced the relevance of the information for both practitioners and customers. This redesign has been instrumental in helping practitioners gain a deeper understanding of their patients' needs and tailoring their interventions more effectively, while customers found the new format more engaging and reflective of their health experiences.
