Skills and Expertise
The joy of solving real-world problems through design fuels my motivation. I find inspiration in the intersection of creativity and functionality, always striving to strike the perfect balance between visual appeal and usability.
User Research: Delving into user behaviours, needs, and preferences to inform design decisions.
Wireframing and Prototyping: Bringing ideas to life through sketches, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
Usability Testing: Ensuring that designs meet user expectations through rigorous testing and feedback.
Collaboration: Working seamlessly with cross-functional teams to achieve holistic and effective solutions
When I'm not immersed in the world of research and prototypes, you might find me exploring the latest UX trends, reading about human psychology, or seeking inspiration from art and nature. I believe in the power of interdisciplinary influences to enrich the creative design process.
Research Philosophy
I view UX research as an iterative, collaborative process that embraces ambiguity and complexity, using cycles of exploration, testing, and refinement to challenge conventions, validate assumptions, and drive continuous improvement and innovation through co-creative engagement with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Ethical integrity is central to my research practice, where I uphold the highest standards of transparency and respect for participants' rights and dignity, rigorously adhering to ethical guidelines to ensure responsible, respectful research that prioritises users' well-being and privacy, fostering trust and lasting relationships.
As a UX researcher, my goal is to generate actionable insights that drive meaningful impact by distilling complex data into clear, compelling narratives that empower stakeholders to make informed decisions and create experiences that truly matter to users.
In essence, my research philosophy is guided by a relentless pursuit of understanding, empathy, and impact. By championing the needs and aspirations of users, I strive to create experiences that enrich lives, inspire loyalty, and drive business success.
Nutritional Therapy
As a nutritional therapist, my process mirrors the UX design approach, where research, personalisation, and iterative improvements are central to creating an effective user experience—in this case, a tailored health strategy.
Understanding Client Needs:
Similar to the user research phase in UX, I begin by gathering comprehensive information about the client's health history, medical conditions, lifestyle, and dietary habits. This helps identify key areas where nutritional changes can make the greatest impact, much like understanding user goals to shape the product experience.
Reviewing Existing Literature:
Just as UX designers consult existing research and best practices, I review current evidence-based guidelines related to the client's condition. For example, when working with a client managing diabetes, I research the latest findings on carbohydrate management and glycemic control to inform my approach, ensuring my strategies are grounded in the most up-to-date knowledge—much like UX solutions are rooted in research.
Analysing Dietary Patterns:
In the same way UX designers analyse user behaviour and interaction patterns, I assess the client’s current diet through food diaries or nutritional assessments to identify imbalances or deficiencies. This step is critical for understanding how their diet aligns with their health goals, similar to identifying pain points in a user’s journey.
Exploring Nutritional Interventions:
I evaluate different nutritional interventions, which parallels the prototyping phase in UX design, where various solutions are tested and considered. For instance, I may compare the benefits of low-carb diets for weight management or high-fiber diets for digestive health, ensuring the chosen intervention is aligned with the client's unique needs.
Implementing and Monitoring:
Just as UX designers implement and test their designs through user feedback and data analysis, I develop a personalised nutrition plan and monitor its effectiveness through regular follow-ups. I track health markers like blood sugar or cholesterol, much like monitoring specific outcomes in a UX project, and adjust the plan accordingly.
Gathering Feedback and Outcomes:
Gathering client feedback on their progress is similar to user testing in UX. I listen to their experiences with the nutritional changes—whether they face challenges or see improvements—and use this information to refine the plan. This continuous feedback loop ensures the solution meets their needs, just as iterative design ensures a product aligns with user expectations.
By integrating personalised data, research, and constant feedback, my approach ensures that each nutritional strategy is both evidence-based and tailored—similar to the way UX designers create user-centered, research-driven designs.
